Smažený sýr (Czech pronunciation: [ˈsmaʒɛniː ˈsiːr] Slovak: Vyprážaný syr) (literally fried cheese) is a Czech cheese-based dish also spread in Slovakia thanks to the former state of unification of these countries (see Czechoslovakia).A slice of cheese usually Hermelín or Edam (Czech: Eidam) and about 1.5 cm in thickness is breaded with flour egg and bread crumbs and fried either in a pan or in a deep fryer.
