Sole d’Europa (English translation: Sun of Europe) was the Italian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 performed in Italian by Enrico Ruggeri.The song is a dramatic ballad with Ruggeri asking the sun to bathe Europe in light in order that it might forget its troubles.The song was performed first on the night preceding Turkey’s Burak Aydos with Esmer yarim.
