In Greek mythology Sceiron was a robber who haunted the frontier between Attica and Megaris. He robbed travellers and kicked them into the sea where they were eaten by a tortoise that lived there. He was killed by Theseus who in turn kicked him into the sea.in popular culture Sceiron is mentioned in King Crimson’s piece The Devil’s Triangle from the 1970 album In the Wake of Poseidon in the second piece’s part Hand of Sceiron
