In Greek mythology Pergamus /ˈpɜrɡəməs/ was the son of the warrior Neoptolemus and Andromache.Pergamus (or Pergamos) is also the name of the citadel of Troy in Homer’s Iliad. Pergamus was also used by Aeneas in the Aeneid by Virgil in Book III as the name of the second city founded with the intention for him and his followers to live after the fall of Troy located on the west coast of modern day Crete.
