Restaurant Row is an approximately mile-long strip of La Cienega Boulevard from Wilshire to Beverly in Beverly Hills California. This area has been the home of many famous restaurants some still there and some long gone such as Tail O’ the Pup Eddie Arcaro’s Ollie Hammond’s Steak House and The Smith Brothers’ Fish Shanty (with an entrance shaped like the mouth of a whale). The nickname was first applied to the area sometime in the 1940s.
