Phytohaemagglutinin (PHA or phytohemagglutinin) is a lectin found in plants especially legumes. PHA actually consists of two closely related proteins called leucoagglutinin (PHA-L) and PHA-E. The letters E and L indicate these proteins agglutinate Erythrocytes and Leukocytes.
