The Oneida (Onę˙yóteˀ or Onayotekaono meaning Upright Stone Place or standing stone Thwahrù·nęʼ in Tuscarora) are a Native American/First Nations people; they are one of the five founding nations of the Iroquois Confederacy in the area of upstate New York.
