Malai Makkhan or Makhan Malai also called Nimish is a sweet snack made from milk cream during the winters in North India especially in cities of Lucknow Kanpur Varanasi (and some other parts of Uttar Pradesh state).Even-though it literally translates to cream butter it has neither. It is mostly sold by old sweet shops and some sellers who carry it in earthen pot on bicycles.
