Kuih Kapit Belanda Sapit or Sepit (Semprong in Indonesian; Love letter in English) is a Peranakan Chinese “Love Letters” (Folded wafer or rolled wafer). Traditionally it is made by clasping egg batter using an iron mold which is heated up by charcoal stove. The mold each has two plates that are clasped tightly together and attached to long handles for manipulating over a charcoal stove.
