General elections were held in Italy on 10 March 1867 with a second round of voting on 17 March. They were a snap election a consequence of the resignation of Prime Minister Bettino Ricasoli who failed to obtain the nationalization of some ecclesistical assets.Only 504265 men of a total population of around 26 million were entitled to the right to vote.
