In 1963 Inter Milan seized his eighth national title missing since 1953: Argentinan manager Helenio Herrera (came third and second in the previous seasons) used succesful the catenaccio with players like Tarcisio Burgnich Giacinto Facchetti and Armando Picchi. Midfield was owned by the playmaker Luis Suárez and on sides Jair da Costa and Mario Corso: strikers were Beniamino Di Giacomo and Sandro Mazzola.
