Denis Matthew Lowney (June 1 1863 – August 13 1918) was an American bishop.Born in Castletown-Bar Haven Ireland Lowney was ordained a priest on December 17 1887. On August 24 1917 he was named titular bishop of Hadrianopolis in Honoraide and auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence and was ordained on October 23 1917. He died while still in office.
