9231 Shimaken (provisional designation: 1997 BB2) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered by Takao Kobayashi at the Ōizumi Observatory in Ōizumi Gunma Prefecture Japan on January 29 1997. It is named for Shimaken a research group led by Toshihiko Shimamoto of Kyoto University.
