73079 Davidbaltimore is a main belt asteroid. Its provisional designation was 2002 GX8.It was discovered on April 14 2002 at the Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking (NEAT) project at Palomar Observatory.The asteroid was named after David Baltimore (b. 1938) renowned for his Nobel Prize-winning biological research and for his vision and leadership as the seventh president of the California Institute of Technology (1997–2006).
