4674 Pauling is an inner main belt asteroid. It is a member of the Hungaria family. It was discovered by Eleanor F. Helin on 2 May 1989 from Palomar Observatory. Pauling measures about 8 km in diameter. It is named after the scientist Linus Pauling. In 2004 a team of astronomers at the European Southern Observatory announced that Pauling is orbited by a small moon. The moon has received the provisional designation S/2004 (4674) 1.
