The Zagreb Mosque is the largest mosque in Croatia. Islamic Secondary School Dr. Ahmed Smajlović and a cultural centre operate within the mosque. The construction began in 1981 and had finished in 1987.In 1983 the Sultan of Sharjah Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Qasimi who had donated 2.5 million USD for the construction visited the Islamic Community in Zagreb.
