Yoshinobu Oyakawa (born August 9 1933) is an American former competition swimmer Olympic champion and former world record-holder. He represented the United States at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki Finland where he won the gold medal in the 100-meter backstroke event. Oyakawa is considered to be the last of the great straight-arm-pull backstrokers.He was inducted in the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1973.
