The FZR250 motorcycle was a Japan only 250cc learner legal race replica. However it was grey-imported to other countries around the world. The FZR250 was produced from 1986 to 1988. 1989 to 1994 models were called FZR250R and gained Yamaha’s exhaust power valve technology – EXUP (EXhaust Ultimate Power). All four of the major Japanese motorcycle manufacturers produced a high-revving 4-cylinder 4-stroke motorcycle capable of producing up to 45 HP (33 kW).
