Wolf v. Colorado 338 U.S. 25 (1949) was a United States Supreme Court case in which the Court held 6-3 that while the Fourth Amendment was not applicable to the states the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment did prohibit unreasonable searches and seizures but not the exclusionary rule. The Court specified no redressive measures for those whose rights were violated. The Court overruled Wolf in the landmark case Mapp v.
