The Washington Run Railroad was a branch line connected to the B&O Railroad. Although primarily a freight carrier it also had a passenger car and ran a passenger service as well. It ran from Layton Pennsylvania crossed the Youghiogheny River on a bridge then passed through a tunnel to continue to Perryopolis Pennsylvania. From there it continued to Star Junction Pennsylvania on a track that ran parallel to Pennsylvania Route 51.
