The Warsaw Metro (Polish: Metro Warszawskie) is a rapid transit system serving the city of Warsaw the capital of Poland. It currently consists of a single north–south line that links central Warsaw with its densely populated northern and southern suburbs. The first section was opened in 1995 then was gradually extended until it reached full planned length in October 2008. There are plans to add two more stations omitted during initial construction for cost saving reasons.
