The first WAGR S class (1888) was a two-member class of tank locomotives the first of which was built in 1888 for the privately owned Great Southern Railway (GSR) of Western Australia. The GSR did not give the class any specific designator. Its wheel arrangement was 0-4-0WT.In 1896 the GSR along with both of its classes of locomotives was taken over by the Western Australian Government Railways (WAGR).
