Von Willebrand factor (vWF) (/ˌfʌnˈvɪlɨbrɑːnt/) is a blood glycoprotein involved in hemostasis. It is deficient or defective in von Willebrand disease and is involved in a large number of other diseases including thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura Heyde’s syndrome and possibly hemolytic-uremic syndrome.
