The Virgin of the Valley (Virgen del Valle) is the patroness of eastern Venezuela. As part of the religious tradition of Venezuela it is venerated in Isla Margarita. There is a celebration in her honor on 8 September in her sanctuary in Margarita Valley near Porlamar.
