Vegard Opaas (born January 11 1962) is a former Norwegian ski jumper.He had his biggest season in 1987 when he became the first Norwegian ski jumper to win the overall World Cup. Espen Bredesen has been the other ski jumper from Norway to match that performance in 1993/94. In Planica 1987 he set the world record with 193m which lasted only for a few minutes.That same year he won three medals at the world championships in Oberstdorf.
