Varenye or Varenie (Russian: Варенье or Варение Belarusian: Варэнне Ukrainian: Варення) is a traditional whole fruit preserve widespread in Eastern Europe (Russia Ukraine Belarus). It is made by cooking berries other fruits or more rarely nuts culinary vegetables or flowers in sugar syrup.
