In enzymology an uronate dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.203) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reactionD-galacturonate + NAD+ + H2O D-galactarate + NADH + H+The 3 substrates of this enzyme are D-galacturonate NAD+ and H2O whereas its 3 products are D-galactarate NADH and H+.This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases specifically those acting on the CH-OH group of donor with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is uronate:NAD+ 1-oxidoreductase.
