Founded as North Carolina Memorial Hospital UNC Health Care is a major non-profit medical system owned by the State of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill North Carolina at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Due to organizational commitments it provides services throughout the Triangle and North Carolina. It was organized in 1952 as the medical school of the University of North Carolina.
