‘Haarlemensis’ is one of a number of Ulmus × hollandica cultivars arising from the crossing of Wych Elm U. glabra with Field Elm U. minor. It was first listed by Springer in Mitt. Deutsch. Dendr. Ges. 21: 366 1912 as U. campestris haarlemensis.
