The hybrid elm cultivar ‘Stavast’ was raised at Wageningen in the Netherlands as clone ‘622’ by hybridizing ‘Commelin’ with clone ‘202’ a cross between the Exeter Elm U. glabra ‘Exoniensis’ and the Himalayan Elm Ulmus wallichiana.
