The Ulmus pumila cultivar ‘Aurescens’ originated in the National Arboretum Zöschen near Merseburg Germany. The tree was first mentioned by Georg Dieck [1] in Neuheiten-Offerten Nat. – Arb. Zöschen Germany 1894–95 as U. pinnato-ramosa f. aurescens.
