Timothy L. Doherty (born September 29 1950) is an American Roman Catholic bishop. He was a priest of the Diocese of Rockford until he was appointed Bishop of Lafayette in Indiana by Pope Benedict XVI on May 12 2010. It was on July 15 2010 that Doherty was ordained bishop of the See of Lafayette becoming the sixth bishop of the diocese
