Thorium(IV) chloride (ThCl4) is an inorganic chemical compound. It is 8-coordinate and adopts a dodecahedron geometry. Thorium(IV) tetrabromide is isostructural. Thorium(IV) chloride dissolves in water to give the thorium dichloride ion:ThCl4(s) → [ThCl2]2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq)
