Thiosulfuric acid is a sulfur oxoacid. The acid cannot be made by acidifying thiosulfate salts as the acid readily decomposes in water. The decomposition products can include sulfur sulfur dioxide hydrogen sulfide polysulfanes sulfuric acid and polythionates depending on the exact reaction conditions.
