Tarzan: The Musical is based on the Disney film of the same name which is in turn adapted from the 1914 novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The songs are written by Phil Collins with a book by David Henry Hwang. The musical mostly follows the plot of the Disney film: Tarzan is raised by gorillas meets Jane a young English naturalist and falls in love.
