Tamopsis novaehollandiae is a common tree dwelling spider occurring in eastern Australia. It is sometimes referred to as the Two Tailed Spider because of the long twin spinnerets. The preferred habitat is on tree trunks rocky outcrops and overhangs. Camouflage is used to avoid predation as is the remarkable speed when threatened. Despite being tree dwellers they do not hide under bark.
