The Taltal wind farm is a wind energy project under construction in northern Chile which when complete is expected to be the most productive wind farm in the country. The farm is named after the commune of Taltal where the project is located in the region of Antofagasta 1550 km (960 mi) north of Santiago.The name Taltal came from the Mapudungun word Thalthal which means night bird.
