The Takemoto-za (竹本座) was a bunraku theatre in Osaka founded in 1684] by Takemoto Gidayū. Plays by many famous playwrights were performed there including works by Chikamatsu Monzaemon Namiki Sōsuke and Takeda Izumo I.
