The Taichung Metropolitan Opera House (Chinese: 台中大都會歌劇院; pinyin: Táizhōng Dà Dūhuì Gējù Yuàn) is an opera house under construction in the 7th Metropolitan area of Taichung Taiwan. The estimated area of the structure is 57685 square metres (620920 sq ft) with 2011 seats. It was designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito. It was contracted on 11 November 2009 with construction planned for 45 months and is estimated to be finished in September 2014.
