The Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Kothamangalam is an East Syrian Catholic diocese or eparchy in India under the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. It was established by Pope Pius XII in 1957. Mar Mathew Pothanamuzhy was the first bishop of the eparchy. Mar George Punnakottil served as the bishop until January 10 2013 when his resignation was accepted by the synod.
