Synaptic Ras GTPase-activating protein 1 also known as synaptic Ras-GAP 1 or SYNGAP1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SYNGAP1 gene. SYNGAP1 is a ras GTPase-activating protein that is critical for the development of cognition and proper synapse function. Mutations in humans cause intellectual disability.
