The Swiss Film Award (formerly Swiss Film Prize) (French: Prix du cinéma suisse German: Schweizer Filmpreis Italian: Premio del cinema svizzero Romansh: Premi dal film svizzer) is the national film award of Switzerland first given out in 1998. 1998 to 2008 : the Prize was given in during the Solothurn Film Festival. 2009 : the nomination night happened in Solothurn during January. Each film nominated received a cash-prize.
