The women’s 4×100 metre freestyle relay was a swimming event held as part of the swimming at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the first appearance of the event which along with the individual 100 metre freestyle marked the debut of women’s Olympic swimming.Only four teams entered. Australasia which had had the top two swimmers in the individual competition did not have any other women present to make a relay team and so did not compete.
