Stuyvesant Wainwright II (March 16 1921 – March 6 2010) was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from New York.Wainwright was born in New York City the son of Carroll Livingston Wainwright and Edith Gould daughter of financier George Jay Gould. He moved to East Hampton New York in 1927. He served in the United States Army from January 30 1942 until December 13 1945 during World War II. He graduated from Yale Law School in 1947.
