Stephanie Bell Kelton (b. 1969[citation needed]) is an American economist and an associate professor currently chairing the Department of Economics at the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC). Research interests include monetary theory employment policy history of economic monetary thought social security public finance fiscal policy financial accounting international finance and European monetary integration. She is a leading contemporary proponent of Modern Monetary Theory.
