Star Hawks is a comic strip written through April 1979 by Ron Goulart followed by Archie Goodwin Roger McKenzie and Roger Stern. Comics veteran Gil Kane provided the artwork with uncredited help from Ernie Colón and Howard Chaykin. It began on October 3 1977 and ran through May 2 1981.Kane received the National Cartoonist Society Story Comic Strip Award for 1977 for his work on the strip.Besides scripting the strip Goulart wrote two Star Hawk prose novels: Empire 99 and The Cyborg King.
