The Dark Red Line is part of the planned Red Line suburban railway system to serve the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. It will run north–south from Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus in Pathum Thani Province to Maha Chai in Samut Sakhon Province. The section from Bang Sue to Rangsit has been approved and is being prepared for construction bidding.
