A general election will be held in Spain on or before 20 December 2015 as provided by the current Spanish constitution and the Organic Law of the General Election Regime of 1985.The elections will be for 350 seats in the Congress of Deputies and the 208 directly elected seats in the upper house the Senate determining the Prime Minister of Spain. The governing People’s Party led by current Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy will battle to seek re-election.
