Sorbung is a recently discovered Tibetan–Burman language of Manipur northeastern India. It could be either a Kukish or Tangkhulic language. Mortenson and Keogh (2011) consider a Kukish affiliation to be more likely although they recognize that are strong links with Southern Tangkhul.Sorbung is spoken by about 300 people of Sorbung village Ukhrul District Manipur northeastern India. Sorbung speakers consider themselves to be ethnic Tangkhul.
