The Socialist Party (Irish: Páirtí Sóisialach) is a socialist political party active in Ireland (both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). It is a member of the Committee for a Workers’ International (CWI) an alliance of Trotskyist parties. Its current elected public representative are one TD one MEP and six local councillors all in the Republic of Ireland. In 2014 it altered its registered name to Stop the Water Tax – Socialist Party.
